Arvel Crynyd gets an important addendum before the attack on the Death Star II. Speaking of Arvel Crynyd, check out the new comic from Daniel Warren Johnson called “Green Leader”. If we didn’t do such a silly, cartoon webcomic, it would be fun to do something like what Daniel is doing, fleshing out some of the obscure Star Wars characters with some meaningful character development. Great job, Daniel!

CAPITAL CON DC THIS WEEKEND HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

This morning we were informed that Capital Con DC has been cancelled due to problems between the convention and the hotel. A huge shock to us and disappointment, but even bigger disappointment for the organizers of the event. If you have already purchased a ticket then I understand the convention is working to send out refunds.

All involved have been great to work with. We hope to see it return next year! Here is the art Leanne had provided for the show’s program cover.

imageCaptial Con DC is coming up and Leanne will be one of the guests of honor. It’s a sci-fi and fantasy convention in its first year. Unlike the much larger Awesome Con held last month, Capital Con offers a smaller and subsequently more intimate venue at the Washington Court Hotel. It’s a three day weekend event starting Friday June 19 opening at 5pm to midnight. Saturday hours are 9am to midnight and Sunday is 9am – 5pm. Guests include Doug Jones (Abe Sapien from Hellboy), Sherrilyn Kenyon (New York Times bestselling author) along with a host of other sci-fi and fantasy genre authors. Check out the guest list.

This is the first time Leanne has been invited to a show as a Guest of Honor and it is both a thrill and very flattering. So, if you’re looking for a fun day trip, or would like to make a weekend out of it, then please come along and show your support.

“Quick drawing of Game of Thrones’ Jorah Mormont I had to get out of my system before delving back into a beloved project.

I hate how attached I’m becoming to Jorah. It does not bode well for his life expectancy… But I can’t help myself.

TEAM JORAH.” – Leanne

Just a final reminder… If you loved adventure games when you were young, or you are interested in discovering the forgotten genre which is being reborn today, then go to the Hero-U kickstarter. Corey and Lori Cole were pioneering adventure game writers and programmers in the 80s and 90s and two of my storytelling and comedy influences growing up. To me, the ultimate adventure game series was Quest for Glory, which blended RPG elements with adventure for the first time (and most successfully). If you’re interested in learning more about my interests and trying them out for yourself, then you can start with Hero-U and work backwards. Blue Milk Special is backing them.
