The following paragraph is best read in the voice of the Venture Bros.’ super villain, the Monarch. Today is my birthday. I’m now just ten years shy of the meaning of life… and in the opinion of some “ordinary” people (like that asshole Taxi driver in NYC) too old for cartoons and comics. Well screw ordinary people! I would talk about the Yuzzem / Wookiees from Splinter of the Mind’s Eye, but I think their BMS appearance and ass-scratching about sums them up. Ooh look! There’s a new TopWebComics voting incentive with Declan Jabba and Boba Fett (helps if you’re familiar with Blake’s 7 but what the hey?!). Vote, my lovelies!

I remember liking the Yuzzem when I read the book as a kid, and felt sad when they met their eventual fate. Curse you, Alan Dean Foster! Just kidding. He was one of my favorite authors. These guys are exactly what I was hoping for in a BMS Yuzzem!

If I ever get another drawing, I might ask for one with Luke growling while Leia looks askance. Oh, and happy birthday!
A cabbie actually said that to you at NYCC? Did he just not want a tip?
He was a weird dude, and the most insane “cabbie” I ever rode with. He cut across 4 lanes of stand still traffic… somehow. It’s like there was a force field around the cab. and yeah, he not only went on about how cartoons are just for kids (apparently the word cartoon encapsulates comics, sci-fi, animation) but also about the perils of marriage and women… and how, since his divorce he can now come home and do what he wants and have no one to answer to. I laughed politely and did my best, in an English way, to not offend him by telling him what I really thought.
Ugh, I hate it when cab drivers want to talk. The worst one I ever had couldn’t be arsed to drive me home from the airport in rush hour traffic and dropped me at the subway instead. It’s a good job I wasn’t a tourist and knew how to get around.

I couldn’t help but read that entire thing in the Monarch voice. Funny note, I couldnt emulate the voice in my head right unless he was searingly angry about everything he said.

Are we going to be able to buy a subscription to “Once Upon a Superhero”, or is it going to be a pay by issue distrbution?
I’ve got an old Supergirl figure somewhere in my bits box that needs a re-paint, and a card or box.
With some “green stuff” for a pony tail, and a little TLC, I think I have my next painting project.
That would be bad-ass! Leanne and I joked about how cool it would be to see some kids come up to our table at a show someday dressed as Sovena Red and Phantom Kid. That would also be bad-ass! 🙂
