If your child was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease and had to undergo brain surgery on both sides of her head, what would you do? Everything in your power to help ensure that surgery happens and the best you can do to manage during the difficult recovery, right? Carey Kelly-Feldman is a Rebel Legion Member, and she is also the mother of ten year old Emily Feldman who is in this very situation. Carey has set up a GoFundMe fundraising campaign: Emily’s Brain Surgery in Boston and I want to ask any of you that can spare even a small amount, to contribute towards their goal of raising $5000 to help the family through this.

Even if you can’t afford to make a small donation please share this appeal with friends to help spread the word so we can make a difference.

Carey is one of the funniest ladies on Facebook, often a source of inspiration and humor for Blue Milk Special with a never ending supply of Star Wars memes. Please help out this fellow fan. As Yoda says in today’s strip, “Do, or do not. There is no try.”

Emily’s Brain Surgery in Boston

My daughter Emily age 10 was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease and due to undergo brain surgery on both sides of her head in June 2012. Emily is facing this very bravely. She is however becoming noticably worse and is now having trouble walking. Our family is bracing for a financial blow as we are expecting medical costs, travel and lodging expenses and lost wages as mom takes time off to care for her post op. Any amount is appreciated! Thanks! Love all of you!
