I just realized we first started our parody of Return of the Jedi all the way back in September, 2013. Less than a year earlier, George Lucas made the big announcement that he was selling LucasFilm to Disney and that a new Star Wars trilogy was going to be filmed. Within the next couple of months, Disney and LucasFilm approved the acquisition and the news that shook sci-fi fandom became history. A director was hired, George Lucas’ plots were thrown out, and plans were set in motion for a new era of the Star Wars franchise.

Essentially, in the same length of time it took from the serious start of pre-production on The Force Awakens, we have been plugging away at our Return of the Jedi webcomic. In that time, an entire hundred million dollar plus film has been finished and released and we still haven’t reached the climactic battle on, and above, Endor.

Of course, the difference is that Blue Milk Special is a two person team. Two people who do this in their spare time for free. However, even with that excuse, I do apologize for the length of time it has taken to get this far. However, I don’t regret it either. Rushing would mean skipping scenes and characters that help make Blue Milk Special a little different from anything else out there. So many little offshoots and tangents would be completely missed and who wants Blue Milk Special Lite? We’d rather give you a high percentage brew with a frothy blue head.

So, a new movie may have come from out of the blue and lit new fires for Star Wars fandom, but Blue Milk Special soldiers ever on, like a Stormtrooper, lost in a sea of white helmets, but working away diligently in the background of the internet to provide fans, and ourselves, with a much needed distraction from life. Remember, humor is the key to happiness!

I am reinstating the comment option for this strip and we will see how things go.

20160208_174410I’m at 43% of my goal to raise enough to cover my recent medical procedure, thanks to you guys, friends, and family. I also have a sneaking suspicion that some of the items I have listed on eBay have benefited from promotion here on this blog for the greater cause. More to come soon!

Please contribute, if you can, to my brand new GoFundMe which I have set up to help raise funds after my latest medical procedure at the beginning of the month — trigger point injections. My insurance has a high deductible which is the reason for my accepting any help anyone is willing to give.

All help we can get will ultimately benefit the continuation of Blue Milk Special as a webcomic. The frustrating thing about having health issues related to the spine and nervous system, like so many other conditions that people are enduring, is that it is hard, physically to do almost all standard day jobs. This makes our financial hardship even more challenging. And of course, artists don’t tend to make much for all the hard work they do either. So, please consider supporting not just ourselves, but any artist whose work brings you happiness.

Without art, the Earth is just eh.
