The Tale of Oola & Biggs continues as Biggs sets out to free Oola from the shackles of slavery. We’ll have two more strips in this first series of the Tale and Oola & Biggs and we will be returning you to Jabba’s Palace on March 10, 2014.

My friend, veteran voice actor Michael Bell is best known among my generation as a defining voice from shows like Super Friends, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Smurfs, Rugrats and games like Soul Reaver. Not so well known is the fact he was one of the voice actors called in to overdub dialogue for the Rebel Pilots during the Trench Run in A New Hope to replace the British actors voices. We first started talking during an interview several years ago, and stumbled across each other at New York Comic Con in 2010. He even played with voice ideas for our upcoming children’s story book, Hickory Hippo. Michael has made numerous appearances in Star Trek: TNG and DS9 and its always a kick to see him bring an alien to life.

Michael let me know about his daughter’s project, Love & Bananas. Follow Ashley Bell and a team of elephant rescuers as they embark on a dangerous mission through the jungles of Cambodia to rescue a captive abused elephant. Can you spare $2? “Because the Love & Bananas Team is entering into a foreign ecosystem there is an element of danger that must be taken seriously, and specialized gear is required to match that danger, and to withstand those conditions. Filming an elephant rescue is remarkably unpredictable, and the funds raised will provide what we need to track and shoot the rescue in all conditions. Your donation will guarantee the Love & Bananas Team will be able to tell this story.”

They have 27 days left with a goal of $50,000 dollars. We’ve donated and we’re looking to get more friends and readers to contribute as little as $2 dollars to help towards the campaign goal. Make a difference in the life of a pachyderm and help support Ashley and her team. Michael and Ashley are super awesome people and champions for animal rights. If you can contribute just $2 then we will all be so grateful for your help!
