So, if Mon Mothma can call in help from outside the Star Wars universe, then so can the Emperor. After all, we have a few villains who are wondering where their meddling heroes have gone off to. Can you pick them all out?
Almost everything you see online these days to do with pop culture is out of control consumerism. Sure, there are a lot of cool geeky Star Wars items, but the geeky product industry has exploded in the last couple of years and there is a lot of crap mixed in with the good. In fact, you could probably just about drown in Star Wars, Avengers, and “insert name of franchise here* products. Even the games are so far removed from what Star Wars originally was that I seldom have any interest in them. Sometimes the best stuff doesn’t come from big professional manufacturers or studios, but from the fans…
If you haven’t already seen the video for the Star Wars VR Experience, then stop what you’re doing and watch it! The potential game has been put together by fans using the Unreal Engine, and will be using Oculus Rift to provide a Virtual Reality experience. Most deliciously, this seems to be focusing on the Original Trilogy. I was blown away by the teaser trailer for the game.
This looks superior and feels more like Star Wars than most licensed professional game studios have turned out. The trailer alone, captured the feel and the chills of Star Wars, not just with John Williams incredible music, or the sound clips, but the way the game plans to immerse you into the most exciting moments from the glorious Original Trilogy.

I hope things work out for the games designers, Rob McLellan, Craig Stiff, and the team at HammerheadVR. They certainly understand the magic of Star Wars and should get a shot at completing this project. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I recognize those spidery things from Bab 5, the Dalek, Guinen, Klingons, Kahn, some villains from Power Rangers, a villain from He-Man…and I presume the Zygons have taken over the Imperial Guard.
Guinan? I mean understand Whoopi, but Guinan? Plus where is Biff Tannen? 😛
You need to go back through our ROTJ strips to understand why Guinan is present. Look for the strips where the Emperor arrives on the Death Star.

The Pendragon series by Stephen R. Lawhead also has a Karis in it – although spelled differently.
Hmm, you seem to be missing a few. The Red Skull, & Loki could fit in there nicely, The bad guy professor from “Phineas & Ferb” needs a space in there. & I think a nice retro touch could be added by including Dishonest John, from the old (& I do mean old) Beanie & Cecil series.
Of course, if you wish to attract the “Wrath of Mouse,” there’s a whole slough of Disney villains who’d also make that cut.
I’m sticking with the villains of those heroes that have joined the Rebel Alliance previously in our webcomic. Also, tending to limit ourselves to characters that either are important to Leanne and myself as fans, or to our readership. I think Marvel superheroes / villains are sliding a little too far from straight up sci-fi that we’ve been focusing on. Evil Lyn is probably the only exception here, and that was a special request from a very special reader. 🙂
And I hear you regarding Disney. Still, as this webcomic is free and parody, I am not too worried anyway.
But which Space Commander Travis is that, the cold one or the manic one?

Gorn, Guinan, Khan, Klingon, Shadow, dalek, vader, Admiral Thrawn, Evil-Lyn, Rita Repulsa, Zed, 6, Winston “Utha” Churchill, Servalan, Space Commander Travis, Mavic Chen and I assume Viceroy Chancellor Nute Gunray or other members of the Trade Confederation (they all look alike to me, does that make me a bad person?)
The others..no idea, especially the weird old elephant man in the middle.
Very good. Correct on almost all counts. However, we would never include the Trade Federation aliens. That is Sim Aloo, one of the Emperoer’s advisers. I’m not sure how Lord Zedd looks like the Elephant Man, but that’s pretty funny. 🙂

…but, yeah, I would have loved to see how they’d handle Thrawn, maybe Talon Karrde. Oh, and everyone else from the Thrawn Trilogy, of course. 😀
Honest question: I love seeing No.6 on the comic but why did you guys choose a new BSG villain to against the old Starbuck and Apollo instead of a classic Cylon? I’m excited to see them face off, whatever the reason!

Honest answer. This strip and this scene almost didn’t happen. Although we planned to do it, as we drew closer to this strip in the schedule, Leanne was so busy with professional projects and commitments that it looked like the new character artwork needed would be impossible to deliver. Fortunately, I knew that I already had Kahn, the Gorn, the Shadow, a Dalek, and Cylon No. 6 from previous cameo appearances in BMS. That already gave me the ability to put together a half-assed version of the planned scene, just with less cameos. But that was not ideal, and to be honest, if you can’t do something well, sometimes it’s better not to do it at all. However, Leanne got a brief tiny eensy weensy window of time (in truth, she made time for BMS), about two evenings after work. That was enough time to get a few more key characters off our personal bucket list + one for a very special reader at their request. So, back to the question, why No. 6 instead of classic BSG? I wanted a classic BSG villain, but BSG is the loser here on our bucket list. And that’s more because of time than any dislike of BSG. We basically just ran out of time to pull it off and so I had to use No. 6. I chose to use her so I was at least giving BSG some sort of acknowledgment. I hope we might be able to add the Imperious Leader at a later date. A similar thing happened with the Rebel Briefing scene. We simply ran out of time to include our Doctor Who cameo, so the Doctor instead arrived typically a little late to the party.
Makes sense to me, I had forgotten that No. 6 showed up in early strips.
I am glad that you guys got this strip together, because I really love it and am excited to see these villains worked in. Thanks for all the work that you do, this is my favorite web comic.
P.S. When did the Shadow appear, I can’t seem to recall when it showed up?
They made their surprise cameo at the very end of “Shadows of the Empire”. Get it? 😉 SHADOWS.

It just occurred to me that since there was no John Chriton in the hero alliance, there can’t be a Scorpius.
Not having Scorpy at a council of evil is a travesty (though I guess that might be the point of a Council of Evil?).
I wish I could have fitted them in. I would have liked to have included Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering, and twiki. 🙁 Just ran out of time with the schedule. Readers drop off and forget about you when you don’t have a rhythm.
Still, it’s a great lineup. Any day you can see Rita Repulsa and a Shadow in the same room is a good one.
Is that any particular Klingon? Like Kor or Kang?

I’m conflicted on the inclusion of a B5 Shadow. On the one hand, they probably like the idea of a powerful civilization taking on all comers. On the other hand, they probably would find Imperial claim to order antithetical to their stated position.
I wonder if Ulkesh (Kosh’s jackass replacement) would have been a better alternative.

Jubal Early is a bounty hunter. I don’t really think he fits with the Emperor’s allies, given they are the nemesis of our guest star heroes. Surely Mal’s enemy is the Alliance. The allies of the Emperor that we are seeing are part of organized groups of villainry from their respected universes: The Klingon Empire, the Dalek Empire, The Federation (Blake’s 7 version), the Cylon Empire, the Shadows, the Guinan Empire… j/k there. But we already established Guinan during our parody of The Empire Strikes Back.
honestly…..I’m just here for one of THE hottest villainess in the fiction universe….how I so wish she was real…hhmmm HHHMMMM….
