Biggs Darklighter #6
In a rare sidestep into the Expanded Universe Star Wars canon, Wednesday’s strip is based on a geeky, but also common sense observation. First some background. Biggs Darklighter and Derek Klivian both attended Starfleet Academy, and both graduated as Imperial officers assigned to the Rand Ecliptic. However, being rebels at heart they planned to jump ship (or create a mutiny) and defect to the Alliance. Some of this story was told by Dark Horse comics, where quite bizarely, Biggs is still wearing his cape. Now, there has never been a single instance of Imperial dress code deviating from routinely boring and drone-like uniforms, yet for some reason Dark Horse comics didn’t care. Just look at Biggs break the rules. He truly was a rebel!
