There’s something adorable about villains and monsters when they are humanized and made to behave in a mundane way. Take Kevin Conn’s Unemployed Skeletor as a perfect example. Kevin basically placed He-Man’s arch enemy on modern day Earth, without a job, with his one perk being his access to his own video blog. Kevin let the improv write itself… As his Skelly would say “The possibilities are endless”. This anesthetized version of Vader is a lot of fun. After all Vader’s been through, all the evil he has committed, and the life, family, and body he has destroyed, its probably not surprising that he needs a coffee every morning as a pick-me-up. Well… actually, this Vader is addicted to Starbucks coffee. And when I say addicted… I mean ADDICTED.

1) I am here because some fan of yours linked to your strip in response to a Full Frontal Nerdity comic by Aaron Williams.
2) If I wasn’t busy I’d probably binge through your archive over the course of two or three days (given past experience), tops.
3) For whatever reason, seeing the Starfleet mug suddenly had me asking “What if the Empire was behind Starfleet?”. There are so many areas where that makes zero sense… until you start looking at what Starfleet says versus what it seems to accomplish. I am starting to think they are the Galactic Empire 2.0: Now with a friendlier interface.
4) Can you tell I am a jaded “recovering” Star Trek fan? XD
Almost every time — let’s say 99% of the time– that a non regular Starfleet officer shows up, they are the villain of the episode. Sometimes the misguided anti-hero, but usually the villain. It’s ridiculous after a while. I really do enjoy Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9 (haven’t really delved deep into Voyager or Enterprise), but man… the Starfleet traitor trope is the show’s most predictable cliche.

This version of Vader reminds me of Gary Cole’s character “Bill Lumbergh” in the movie Office Space. 😀
