Great strip! Sorry I haven’t been on in a while, but I have to complain about the current vote… Biggs as an answer just ruins the validity of the question (as seen by the replies) …… just sayin… 😉
With all this Star Wars/Trek crossover going on, shouldn’t the universe be imploding somewhere? At the very least, a basement somewhere?

Technically, it was a pilfered Bird of Pray that did the sun-arc time travel (at least in the film ST4… I forget how they went back in time during the original series). In STNG, I can only remember the Enterprise E (film: First Contact) going back and that was thanks to the Borg. /technicalities

LOL I think Vader’s blank stare is because Piett says the Enterprise when every Trekkie (including Vadar) knows that it was the Bird of Prey… Honestly Think Piett shouldbe force choked for not knowing the difference… Or atleast be forced to watch Voyage home so he can get it right next time!

From the wiki entry on the slingshot effect, I was under the impression the Enterprise had tried it at least once. Not that it undermines the joke as Vader’s stupidity is part of what makes this strip. And his model Enterprise.
Spock figured out slingshot time travel in the 1969 episode “Tomorrow is Yesterday.” By Star Trek’s third season, Starfleet was using it routinely to research Earth history, but that part didn’t stick in canon.
I love that Vader has a model Enterprise hanging in his meditation chamber!

So Vader has his coffee mug, coffee maker, Enterprise model, ObiWan Blanket/cape, and Darth Maul action figure.
I could just see the boxes of toys, comics, and collectables blocking the hallways of the Super Star Destroyer if his collecting keeps up. There really is never enough space, even in space.
I mean who’s gonna tell him to clear his toys from in front of the reactor room door, so the technicians can do routine maintenance. ;=
I believe the “slingshot” move was used in an episode of TNG, too.
