This weekend we’re heading up to the Big Apple to see Paul McCartney perform as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. A big thank you to Weekend Update producer Scott Weinstein for thinking of Leanne the moment he knew Sir Paul McCartney agreed to appear. Paul is one of Leanne’s biggest heroes and the last time she saw him backstage she didn’t have the courage for more than an exchanged glance as she daringly walked on by. This time I’m going to be her chaperone… er… her fellow adventurer. I’ll do my best to encourage her to say hello, or chance a photo with him, if the opportunity presents itself. Seeing Leanne light up is what it’s all about!

After School Agent webcomicIt’s been a while, and it’s worth another plug… Scott is the writer of the excellent After School Agent, both a webcomic and print comic that you can check out here! We met Scott at Heroes Con in 2008 and he is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. After School Agent is a story about the adventures of secret agent Gordon Levitch, who has to balance special missions with his school assignments, while keeping his super human abilities a secret from his family. Leanne illustrated an 8 page story for Scott which you can read here.

Spending the weekend in New York also meant that we had to work extra hard on Blue Milk Special to make sure we had Monday’s strip finished before we leave tomorrow. It’s a good one… at least, I think so. A certain fan base outside of Star Wars will love it. That’s all I’m going to say!

If you’re on Facebook with nothing to do, check out Retro Star Wars. I’ve joined them as an assistant admin and they regularly post great Star Wars photos and jokes.

Blue Milk Special 2011 Group PinupA special thank you to Thomas from Germany, for the action figure trade! Here’s hoping his Blue Milk Special pinup will arrive soon! I now have an Ephant Mon to join Jabba’s Palace of weird and wonderful characters. If you are interested in trading a figure for a BMS print (we currently have two on offer), check out my want list below.

I am collecting specific figures from the mid-90s to present day. Unless otherwise noted, Power of the Force and Power of the Jedi figures are acceptable.
