At last, my favorite scene in all of Star Wars! I hope we did it justice, at least by the standards we set as a webcomic.

It all had to be about “muggy” of course. When you have a webcomic that has run for almost 8 years, you’re going to end up with a few running gags that might not work perfectly for a new reader, but hopefully feels appropriate and satisfying to those that have been with us for a while.

Also, I want to wish all those who celebrate it, a Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to everyone else who gets them. If you want to give Blue Milk Special a gift this Christmas, there are two things we would be very grateful for…

We are now listed on Line Webtoons which works on your web browser or you smart phone app and allows you to read Blue Milk Special in a brand new VERTICAL format. Here’s an example on the left, though to read it full size, click the link to go straight to Line Webtoons.

We will be reformatting all our strips, including the wide panel ones, to work on Line Webtoons. What we would love from you is your support. If you already have Line Webtoons, then please subscribe to us, share our work, and give us a heart. If you don’t have Line Webtoons, sign up, or download it. There are many great webcomics there to discover.

The other gift idea would be a small donation of $10. Obviously, supporting us on Line Webtoons is totally free, it just requires a few minutes, or less, of your time each day. However, if you can spare a few dollars, they would go a long way to supporting Blue Milk Special. We recently had some website bugs and had to get a new backup and update installed. It is hard on us paying for everything out of our own pockets when we can’t really monetize Blue Milk Special, so if you enjoy the comic and it gives you a few laughs, then please consider throwing some financial support our way. We deeply appreciate it, and we could not continue without the support of those who have done so already.

One example of why we need all the words of encouragement and financial support is that Blue Milk Special takes an amazingly large amount of time out of our weeks. Leanne has a office day job, and without her, the project would be severely handicapped. I’ve got side jobs that require more time than I currently give them. Somehow we have to squeeze BMS into our evenings, after dinner, on weekends, or when I get the chance during the day.

Today’s strip is a perfect example of how time consuming BMS can be. It took nearly two days, combined, for the two of us to complete. BMS is not a source of income for us, and the expenses of keeping it running, and the ways it can sometimes detract from our lives, made it impossible for us to continue. Fortunately, Patreon came along, and through the support of patrons, who value the work we do as artists, we have been able to justify the continuation and completion of our Return of the Jedi’s parody.

Leanne also has to fit in freelance work and favors for close friends, as do I. So there have been numerous times when we’ve both been fed up with Blue Milk Special. It’s not that it isn’t fun, it’s just that when we set out to do this, we knew it would be a fan project and not about money. However, we can’t afford to lose money on it, and that’s what happens when wordpress and comic easel need updating every few months, and glitches in the website occur, and they need fixing by a professional. And even fun projects aren’t always enough justification in themselves.

So, if anyone is feeling Christmasy, and has a few dollars to spare, we would be honored to receive your patronage. Either as a donation through Paypal, then here is the link.

Or through GoFundMe, or as a regular monthly subscription through Patreon.

And if you can’t afford it, don’t worry. Like I said, you can support us with your “likes”, “shares”, “hearts”, comments, etc via Line Webtoon, Facebook, and Twitter. And if you would like to buy something, there is always our store of little trinkets. Buy a coin, or a print. Buy a BMS shirt.
