Shadows of the Empire – Part 6
Vader lets off some steam pre-Xizor meeting by training against some droids. This is an interesting scene that introduces Jix, a character who has a larger role in the Dark Horse comics and is charged with protecting Skywalker from Jabba’s goons. This is, in part, due to Vader’s distrust of Jabba’s finesse… but perhaps the Force was on his side here too, as Xizor wants Skywalker dead and has Jabba wrapped around his finger. Forcetuitous for Vader, maybe?
We made a slight tweak to the model of the training droid for this one! 😉
We are proud to announce that Blue Milk Special creators Leanne and myself will be honored as Friends of the 501st Legion at the ANS Sci-Fi & Comic-Con in La Plata, Maryland on Saturday May 11. The ceremony particulars are still being finalized but if you’re a BMS fan and in the Maryland, North Virginia, or Greater Metropolitan DC area then we would love to see you at this special event. That’s not to say we wouldn’t love to see fans from anywhere in the world show up, but … oh heck! You know what I mean. Get out here to see us!
Along with ourselves, guests at the ANS Sci-Fi & Comic-Con include Frank Cho and the 501st Legion’s Old Line Garrison. This is a small, single day show — Saturday only. Doors open at 10am and close at 3pm. Between ourselves and the Old Line Garrison we will ensure that there is a strong Star Wars presence at the show. It will be a lot of fun!
So, if you are in the area or want to make a trip out to see us, this is a great opportunity to soak up some BMS in person and pick up some unique BMS goodies!

Regretfully, I never read “Shadows of the Empire”. I only played the Nintendo game. 😉 But this comic is motivating me to go get this book!
Get the Dark Horse comics trade. Probably the best way to experience it, I think.
Swoop Gang is such a ridiculous name for a band of supposed tough guys. I did enjoy beating them in KOTOR, though.
Darth Vader, swinging his lightsaber with care to avoid spilling his coffee at those poor power droids – love it! The repeated “gonks” really makes this one.

This type of abuse is unseeming for droids that can be put to far more interesting use (hunting Krayt Dragons being one of them).
Still it’s nice to seen them incorporated into the comic.
