The Holiday Special Prelude
Sorry about the excruciating wait! We return next Monday with our regular updates. Until then, this prelude to the forthcoming Star Wars Holiday Special parody will have to suffice. Part of the motivation for this particular strip was the desire on both our parts (myself and Leanne) to redesign Chewie. Leanne would not let me pull a “George Lucas” and simply retroactively add the new Chewie into the old strips, so we came up with this salon “make over” situation instead. For all those who have never suffered… er… seen the Star Wars Holiday Special you have the weekend to catch up before we begin ripping it to shreds (in a loving way).

Makeover Chewie looks AWESOME!
Niiiice! Totally diggin’ the new look for Chewie! He looks edgier and very groovy.
Chewie looks like some sort of wookie Terminator. Not sure how I like him looking like he is ready to kill but Im sure it will grow on me.
I like the new colors and face, but he isn’t fluffy enough.
Needs to be more fluffy.
Chewie looked WEIRD in the prequel film (whichever one it was i’ve seen them dozens of times and can’t distinguish one from the other).
He was sort of cross-eyed looking with a really high forehead! His hairstyle in ESB back was very fetchng indeed – floppier.
It was in episode 3. I never saw a problem with him in it , ill need go look at that seen again.
I like the new chewie (and he is pretty reminiscent of the Boba Fett cartoon chewie, which seems apropos), but to Sam, i think thats his “game” face we’re seeing in the two shots we have so far. I’m sure they have a new version of his lovable puppy face as well.

When every SW film came out, they always made a comic based on it. the japanese did this as well, altough with manga which is extremly well-made (Leia is ALOT friendlier towards Luke, and ben, vader and the jedi acts like old rugged samurais in gi’s). what i want to say is, chewie looked JUST like this in the ESB manga. also, the manga has the cut-off scene where biggs tell luke he’s gonna join the rebs. always disliked how they deleted that scene.
I’ve seen maybe.. half of it. Then we couldn’t find the other parts to the .avi. >.> I didn’t think it was /that/ bad..anyway, yeah, makeover Chewie looks awesome.
